Milligan Garden - March 2007
Aren't these verigated vinca beautiful? Most of the time they are a huge pain in the grass (hahahahahahaha), but early spring they seem worth the trouble. I have found myself pulling at the mercilessly so they won't take over...but they always have a foothold the very next year.
I seem to have many, many bulbs planted around the tree in the front, but most of them are just green shoots coming from the ground. I had a few blossoms this year and my camera captured them nicely. I wish more would bloom. Maybe I need to thin them. I'll do a little research and let you know what I find out.
These are the daylillies that we got from Mrs. Thrower's "dump" pile last year. Was that just last year? Seems longer than than. Yes, I think it was the year before last. Anyway, they are really filling out. We put them everywhere we could think of - this is the north side of the pool fence and they are going to be breathtaking when they bloom I may even have to thin them next year! They are also sprouting around the mailbox, the little fir in the front and in a straight line between two dogwood trees in the back. They will be beautiful in the late summer. Stay tuned for more pictures!
